

The Division I Committee on Academics (CoA) oversees the Academic Progress Rate as part of its responsibilities with the Academic Performance Program. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport. Volleyball collected its second straight perfect score and fifth in the last sixth reporting years. Tennis obtained a perfect score for the first time since 2016-17. Soccer increased its total by an impressive 40 points. Women's Golf logged its second straight 1,000 score and seventh high mark since the program began competition. On the women's side, Women's Basketball's perfect score was its second in the last three reports. Baseball, Football and Men's Track and Field all exceeded their 2020-21 marks with track and field doing so by 40 points. Men's Golf achieved the feat for a second straight time and eighth total time since 2008-09. The perfect score was Men's Cross Country's fourth consecutive while Men's Basketball matched the high mark for a third straight reporting year. All 15 sports exceeded the NCAA's required minimum score of 930 by 25 points. Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Men's Golf, Women's Basketball, Women's Golf, Tennis and Volleyball recorded perfect 1,000 scores, marking the third straight year for Houston with five-plus perfect scores. HOUSTON – The University of Houston Athletics Department recorded seven perfect scores and saw 12 of 15 programs equal or surpass their previous totals as part of the 2021-22 Academic Progress Rate (APR) report which was released by the NCAA on Tuesday afternoon.
